    The Team

    The team supporting this role is a collaborative and purpose-driven group focused on promoting child safety and wellbeing through effective education and communication initiatives. The team values integrity, clarity, and advocacy, ensuring consistent messaging, awareness, and education that strengthen a culture of child safety across Tasmania’s health services.

    The Role

    The Senior Education Officer– Child Safety and Wellbeing (CSW) will work with the Principal Policy Officer to plan, coordinate and deliver learning and development and stakeholder engagement plans on a range of approved projects and strategic initiatives relating to safeguarding children and young people across the Department of Health and assist in the delivery of CSW Service priorities.

    Develop, deliver and evaluate training programs on child safeguarding topics across the Department of Health.

    You will

    • Lead the development of learning and development and stakeholder engagement strategies of the CSWS for all internal and external stakeholders on a Statewide basis.
    • Provide strategic advice and accurate information on all issues in relation to the learning and development and stakeholder engagement activities of the CSWS.
    • Lead implementation of projects that contribute to the successful delivery of CSWS strategic initiatives and approved service priorities in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including development of implementation strategies, review of project outputs and outcomes, and the preparation of project documentation and project status reports.
    • Engage with stakeholders on a statewide basis in development and delivery of safeguarding education and engagement plans.
    • Have personal resilience and capacity to interact with sensitive content regarding child safety and wellbeing.

    Details of appointment

    Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

    *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

    Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

    Salary

    $111,754 to $126,579 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

    • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2026.

    • Current Working with Children Registration or Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.

    Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

    • Tertiary qualifications in education/learning and development or demonstrated work experience in a relevant field.
    • Relevant qualifications in Training and Assessment or similar or demonstrated experience in a similar role.
    • Current Drivers Licence
